With Halloween this week, and the clocks changing, there’s no denying it’s that time of year again…autumn! Whilst autumn may be gloomy at times, there are definitely some positives – even in Geneva! For one, the chestnut man has found his way back to Bel-Air! For another, the lakeside is just as beautiful in autumn as it is during the summer. Some of the most spectacular sunsets occur this time of year, and you don’t have to wait until 10pm to see them!
The leaves around town are also looking particularly vivid, these days with their beauty! If you want an even more dramatic view of the changing colours, then you can always take a trip up one of the nearby mountains, like the Sur Cou, for example.
It’s also time for the bird migrations, and that makes the lakeside the ideal spot for some bird watching! Over 130 different species can pass through Geneva, each year! Whilst binoculars do come in handy to see the passing birds in detail, it’s not essential to have them in order to enjoy the wildlife. So, if you’re looking for a way to spend your extra hour this week, why not put on your favourite wooly jumper, grab a blanket to sit on, and head to the lake! You could even book a guided tour with an experienced bird-watcher, if you’re interested in learning more about the birds in our area.
