Chocolate in a castle!

With the Escalade and Christmas just around the corner, you may eat a lot of chocolate this month. On Sunday there is one more opportunity to stuff yourself! Head to Château de Prangins (located at about 30Km from Geneva, between Nyon and Gland in Vaud) for their event called “Advent at the castle” and find out more about chocolate. Don’t miss the opportunity to try specialties made by Rapp Chocolatier. Rapp is a well-known family pastry and sweet shop. They are also the owner of the chocolate school in Prangins.

On Sunday, December 9 (from 10am to 5pm), you will be able to visit the castle – a magnificent building – and its garden. There will be special tours of the reception rooms at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm.

But mainly you will try chocolate all day long: Learn about the history of chocolate or the origin of cocoa; listen to Christmas carols or musical tales. There will even be a hot chocolate bar! Learn how to make truffles or ancient hot chocolate by joining one of the workshops

And the best part it that all of the above is free! You can only register for workshops and activities on the spot on the day of the event, so I would go early!

Access by public transport: train to Nyon and bus 536 or train Gland and bus 81730

Originally from France, I’ve been living abroad for 15 years... My background is in Education. I’ve been in Geneva for 6 years now and I'm loving it. At first I found it boring but then I found out that most of what it has to offer is hidden. As I love going out and exploring, this big village is just like a playground for me: I'm having tons of fun and I hope I can share it with you! I head up the Out and About and Lazy Sunday sections of Biskotti so if you're organizing an exciting event, be sure to invite me!
