WHAT TO DO DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON (apart from skiing or disappearing to a warm country of course!)

New Year’s Eve: If you are in Geneva for New Year’s Eve, even though it might not be the best place for a big party on that date, here are a few ideas:

  • Why not join the festivities organized by the city of Geneva in Plainpalais. On the Plaine and in the street of Ecole de Médecine, there will be live music and DJs all night long! Make sure you are wearing warm clothes!
  • Bateau Genève on Quai Gustave Ador will also be celebrating with La Teuf: French music and good food.
  • Another option is to join a CGN cruise: leaving at 7:30pm you’ll be enjoying the 6 courses menu on board a nice boat.
  • And if you like dancing of course most clubs in Geneva will have a special New Year’s evening! Bring on the champagne!

Cirque de Noël: The circus is on plaine de Plainpalais for a special Christmas edition until January 13.

Ice-rinks : If you feel like ice-skating, find where to go here.

Thermal baths: If you want to relax, what’s better than some hot springs?

Originally from France, I’ve been living abroad for 15 years... My background is in Education. I’ve been in Geneva for 6 years now and I'm loving it. At first I found it boring but then I found out that most of what it has to offer is hidden. As I love going out and exploring, this big village is just like a playground for me: I'm having tons of fun and I hope I can share it with you! I head up the Out and About and Lazy Sunday sections of Biskotti so if you're organizing an exciting event, be sure to invite me!
