This week, don’t miss: Stand up comedians, an afterwork concert, chocolate fair and Halloween parties of all kinds.
International Comedy Club: In need of a good laugh? Want to see something in English? Once a month, Uptown (rue de la Servette, 2) hosts the International Comedy Club, and some of the best comic artists perform in Geneva! Stand-up comedians, Peter Firman and Joe Rowntree, are in town this Tuesday! Peter is recognized as the UK’s leading comedian/magician, and Joe is a famous UK comedian, actor, writer and TV presenter. Tickets are available online for 35 CHF. October 23 at 8pm.
Musical Apéritif : Every Thursday, enjoy a drink with some music after work! Don’t miss Ultra Dieez, with two great guitars and a deep voice. Enjoy the raw emotions and lots of French metaphors. The café is a simple bistrot with good meat dishes, so why not stay for dinner if you’d like to try some proper game? International Chocolatiers and Chocolate Fair: This is the perfect indoor activity! You won’t want to miss the tastings, lectures and workshops for kids! Learn everything you’ve ever wanted to know about chocolate. For instance, you can learn which wine to drink with which type of chocolate, the working life of cocoa-planters, and much more. And of course, watch some demonstrations by the best chocolate makers! Buy your tickets in advance online and make sure to reserve a spot for your kids for the workshops! Halloween: For those of you who like to dress up, then check out a few ideas below for where to go! Whether you are looking for a big party or want to have a nice time with your kids, here are a few options for everyone.

- October 27: Wake up your beast. Wear an animal costume and bring your favorite soft toy. Bateau-Lavoir.
- October 28: Halloween for families. Activities and shows for kids. Signal de Bougy at 11:30am.
- October 22-28: For the kids’ holiday, daily activities for children aged 10 to 14. Dancing, cooking, pumpkin carving and more! Organized by this youth association. Aigle.
Kiva Drinks: If you are interested in learning about Kiva, a community that connects people through lending to reduce poverty, here is a good opportunity. Very small amounts of money that people lend help other people in poorer countries launch small businesses. It’s a great concept that has been proven to work. Enjoy a drink, free of charge, with the Geneva Kiva community to celebrate the 7th anniversary of this non-profit organization. Bar Le Cube. Rue de l’Université, 3. October 24. 6pm-10pm.
Comptoir de Morges: This is a fair to discover or learn more about local companies. Zumba and music every evening. The topic this year is energy-efficiency, with an exhibition on how to consume less. Free entrance. Details here. Parc des Sports. Morges. October 23-28.
Jeux de Klee: If you are looking for something to do with your little ones during their holiday, then check out this exhibition for kids between the ages of 5 and 12. Save the date: November 17-December 2. Filmar en America Latina. The program is not up yet, but it will be the 14th edition of this great film festival, and this year Brazil will be the main guest!
