Desalpes de St Cergues*

Desalpes – The return of the cattle from the alpine pastures is celebrated in St Cergues on September 28. The festive alpine procession always takes place on the last Saturday in September and is a colorful living tradition and authentic custom. Processions, Food, Music and Alpine traditions!

CERN open weekend – September 28 and 29*  

CERN1CERN are expecting up to 50,000 visitors per day over the course of this weekend. CERN is the largest physics particle laboratory in the world.

Visitors will have a chance to meet Cern’s researchers, engineers and technicians; explore the laboratories, visit technical halls, see experiments and accelerators. The visits above ground are free.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAUnderground, visitors will get to see the LHC – the world’s largest accelerator.
The Open Days have been scheduled within the Long Shutdown of the accelerators, during which important work is being carried out so that the LHC can run at a higher energy when it restarts in 2015.

Originally from the UK, I have a legal background. I have been in the Geneva area since 2005 and love the mountains, the lake and the quality of life here.
