Sport; week of November 12 – Football, Ice Hockey, Volleyball and Skiing

There is a variety of sports on offer in Geneva this week!

Martial Arts:

From November 9-18, The Martial Arts Fair will be at the Autumnal Fair (see Geneva Out and About from last week)


Geneva Servette v Sion – November 18, Stade de Geneve; 1.45pm

Ice Hockey:

It’s a fantastic season for the Eagles, the ice hockey is worth a visit even for the terrific atmosphere alone; On November 17, Genève-Servette against Kloten Flyers, Patinoire des Vernets, 7.45pm


On November 18, head down to the Salle Omnisports d’ Henri — – Dunant from 3pm


November 17; Bourse aux skis 2012 de l’Association des parents d’élèves du Boccard, Sallanches

2nd hand ski gear for Adults and Kids at the Fair in Sallanches.

The ski season is almost upon is. The forecast is mild and dry this week but it could change very quickly. A heavy snowfall could see some of the resorts around Geneva open early at the weekends;


If the snow conditions allow; Chable-Verbier and the Medran 1 gondolas, the Lac de Vaux 1 chairlift and the Funitel, will open at weekends. The official opening weekend; 1st December 2012

Grands Montet; partial opening; December 8
Remainder of lifts; December 22
Les Houches; partial opening weekend December 15

December 15 partial opening. December 22 full opening; Weekend opening if November if conditions allow.

Les Gets
Weekend partial opening of some lifts in November if conditions allow.
